"Ennis seems to have a special rapport with children. He does numerous programs with them, singing folk songs and showing the song's close links with cultural history. He does school programs whenever possible and campaigns tirelessly for the inclusion of music and other arts in the educational curriculum."

Curley offers 18 unique residency and workshop courses which can be used individually or combined to adapt to the needs of your school or community.
These courses were refined over a 20-year period working with students in classes PreK-12 both as a performer and in long and short-term artist-in-residencies.
The projects were supported by the Nebraska Arts Council, the Omaha Metropolitan Arts Council, the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, Kentucky Arts Council and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
These projects also included concerts and workshops for children with various ethnic backgrounds, mentally and physically handicapped children and adults.
All 18 courses have these general objectives:
- Acquaint students with musical instruments used in American folk and traditional music -- guitar, dulcimer, banjo, mouthbow, jaw-harp, spoons, harmonica and shakers.
- Participation in group singing and playing of historical, folk and story songs.
- Linking the early development of American music to present styles.
- Explore the fusion of cultures in American music, especially Irish, English, German, African, Scottish and Native American.
